Strategy & Solution

At the center of the identity is a symbol inspired by the prairie crocus, Manitoba’s official floral emblem since 1906, selected by school children as a representation of provincial pride. The logo thoughtfully merges three powerful ideas: the shield, the crocus, and the arrow. Together, they form a unified mark that speaks to protection, resilience, and progress. The final outcome is simple, bold, and timeless.

Many insurance brands rely on generic shields or abstract icons. Instead, we chose to anchor the identity in something uniquely Manitoban — the prairie crocus — creating immediate regional relevance and authenticity.

The typography complements the icon with clean, contemporary letterforms that communicate professionalism and clarity. The blue gradient palette reinforces trust, dependability, and confidence.

Implementation & Results

The finalized logo system was designed for versatility across digital and print platforms, including website, social media, signage, stationery, and marketing materials. The icon functions effectively as both a primary logo mark and a standalone symbol for app icons, favicons, and branded assets.

The simplicity of the mark ensures strong recognition at small and large scales, while its layered symbolism provides depth and storytelling opportunities in marketing communications. By tying the identity to Manitoba’s heritage, Crocus Insurance establishes immediate local credibility and emotional connection. The result is a bold, modern brand presence that reflects protection, progress, and provincial pride.
